Over 400 artists lined the streets of Whyte Avenue and beyond this July, marking the 30th anniversary of one of Edmonton’s most beloved and enduring festivals—the Whyte Avenue Art Walk. And I’m proud to say this was my fourth year participating.
🎨 What the Art Walk Means to Me
When I first set up my table on Whyte Avenue, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But year after year, this event has reminded me of why I do what I do. It’s not just about showcasing finished pieces—it’s about storytelling, process, and those spontaneous conversations that happen over a shared appreciation for creativity.

There’s nothing quite like it. For one weekend in the heart of summer, the streets of Old Strathcona become alive with creativity, conversation, and connection. As an artist, there’s something incredibly energizing about being surrounded by such a diverse community of creators, and having the chance to share your work directly with the people who connect with it.

People stop by with curiosity, often mid-coffee or bike ride, and before long we’re talking about inspiration, technique, or the emotion behind a particular painting. Some visitors come back every year just to see what’s new. That kind of connection is rare, and it means a lot.
Good by my sweet child.
I hope you enjoy your new home!!
